The economic environment has certainly been unusual. Interest rates have never been so low for so long. They cannot stay this low for much longer and I anticipate them rising some in the next several months. This would be a good time to look at fixed or variable rate loans.

Rudy Llora, who used to be on the board of he credit union, and who has been off for some time, has come to work for us doing business development. He replaces Michael Wilkenson. Rudy has already scored big with getting COSTCO employees in South City to affiliate with Cypress. If you are a manager, CEO, or HR person at one of Cypress West’s Select Employer Groups (SEGs), don’t hesitate to give him a call and introduce yourself. He will be happy to arrange a stuffer for payroll envelopes, drop off membership brochure or come out to talk about the credit union to prospective and current members..

Rudy is also available to arrange employee seminars on financial planning topics with Jim Frazin, CFP®. Rudy can also help you poll your employees to find out what they would like to know. Topics Jim is available to talk about could be anything from “When is a home a good investment?, “Is leasing always a good deal?”, to “How much money do I need to retire?”, or “what will it cost to send my kids to college?”, or “Do I need a will?”

We are also looking forward to seeing an updated Website. Our current site will get an overhaul and will be available soon. Even in its old incarnation, there have been improvements. You can now access eTeller and BillPay from the site. These highly secure Internet features are making your transactions easier and lowering the costs of them. If you have not tried, eTeller, you are missing something. Also, don’t forget about eStatements. This is the best thing since sliced bread. Statements are delivered via email, password protected. You pick the passoword!
